It reminded me of wars which were started by such assainations and wars which are still ongoing. I remember the Berlin wall going down. i wonder if i will be able to remember World Peace?

It is a great tragedy for a family to lose a loved one unex- pectedily, especially in the manner in which Mr. Rabin died. I lost my sister suddenly this past summer, unexpectedily, and my father ten days later, not unexpected. I and my mother have had to struggle with this and the deep depres- sion it has caused my mother. But, the Rabin family has many loved ones close in time and distance. That will help the healing process. But my heart goes out ot the entire Rabin family and all Israelis of good hearts. I only pray that this brings a fair comprise for pease on all borders that Mr. Rabin was trying to achieve. One thing, I hope this helps bring to your country is a constitution that provides for separation of church and state. This is to remove the extremists in the religious right from political power. Shalom.

Although I have no personal connection to Israel, I have been walking in dazed sadness since the assassination, affected almost more than I thought possible by the tragic death of Yitzhak Rabin. I had not only a deep respect for Mr. Rabin and his courage and vision in serving his country and working for peace, but also a deep affection because he seemed so utterly and endearingly human. My heartfelt condolences go to the Rabin family and all those in Israel who wish for peace; I join countless others in mourning Yitzhak Rabin, husband, father and grandfather, soldier, statesman and peacemaker. I am reminded of the words of the American leader Abraham Lincoln, like Mr. Rabin a courageous leader who died for the noble principles he believed in: "It is for us, the living, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work that they have thus far so nobly carried on. It is for us here to be dedicated to the great task remaining before us; that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion; that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain..." Shalom chaver, friend of peace, friend of the world. Now he belongs to the ages, and to the angels.

I was very saddened to hear of the assassination of Prime Minister Rabin. I am atonished that the student who committed this crime had the audacity to claim he did so as an act of God. I know he does not worship the same God I do. I know that my God is watching over the family in your time of need. To Mr. Rabin's granddaughter who spoke at the funeral, my heart goes out to you. I know that you will find a way to someday remember your granfather without experiencing the void you have in your life. As I saw all of your weeping at the funeral, I wept also. I hope Mr. Rabin's successor will continue the peace talks and attempts which Mr. Rabin wanted to see become a reality. Please accept my deepest sympathies as you mourn the loss of a wonderful leader and no doubt a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. May God be with you always.

It is most difficult to lose a loved one when you are prepared and unfathomable what the lose must feel like when it is so sudden. I only hope that the loss of your husband, father, grandfather will be a chance for Jews to realize that hate of any kind is destructive for it knows no boundaries and can easily flow over and be destructive to those who are trying to help most. Killing is no solution to disagreement. Prime Minister Rabin was a teacher in life and I pray that his death will be a lesson to us all and than maybe it will seem a little less futile. My sincerest sympathies and condolence. Robin Goldstein, NYC

I would like to relay my deepest concolences to Rabin's family. I know at a time like this, one cannot find the right words to say. However, as a strong and optimistic individual, who has has preached about peace and constantly has tried to instill the good thoughts and dreams in his people, I can only say that he shall not be forgotten. Although he was assassinated by one of his own people, I can assure you that he shall be remebered by many people of other nationalities, and represent an idol to many others. All of us who know what its like to fight for peace and serenity for our country, can understand the wisdom of his words. I am a U.S citizen, but of an Armenian nationality, and can understand where his words of peace talks and future dreams were leading. I am certain that God will rest his soul in peace, knowing that he has stemmed many others who will follow in his footsteps and not allow his efforts be wasted. Once again, our deepest condolences to the whole family. Alice L. Jerahian

The death of one of the greatest men in the
history of the state ofIsrael
has touched me most deeply. His courage both in war
and in the search for peace is something that Jews will for untold
generations be able
to look up to symbolize best not only among us but among the great
leaders and human being of the world in the 20th century.
I saw both Henry Kissinger and James Baker cry when interviewed
the day after his murder, something that one never expected
to see particularly from Kissinger who had previously seem to been able
to distance if not totally separate himself emotionally from the
essence of the immense occurrences occuring during his lifetime and
among his own people was that much more moving as a testament to
Yitzhak Rabin.
Former Secretary of State James Baker could not have been more eloquent
in how special a human being
Yitzyak Rabin was.
I offer my deepest condolenses. Let those in the Rabin family and
all Israel be comforted with the mourners of Jerusalem.

Seeds have been planted in the desert, seeds of a unifying power for all of its peoples. We must follow Mr. Rabin's example, and keep giving water to these seeds, that they may one day grow into the glorious flowers of peace. All desert people have something in common. We all know the burn of the sun and the sting of the sand. We also all know, all too well, the grief of senseless wars. And at least some of us have the vision of and end to the wars, and the beginning of a new desert alive with hope, tolerance, and the power shared by friends. May peace spread over all the sand.

On Satarday November the 4, the Prime Minester of Isreal was killed by a Jewish fanatic. On this day we show how violent people get when it becomes a matter of life and death. Some people believe that by giving back the land we have won, we give back our freedom and our right. I belive that we can not give up all the land we have conquered, however we also can not refuse the hope of the children that the previous war will be the last. Many people believe that since Rabin is no longer with us we will be forced to see many more wars and little peace. G-D forbid this should happen. I can't give up the hope that one day there will be no Hamas, and no fanatics like the one that killed Rabin, and the one that killed all the people in the mosque. In our world today we see many things we wish we could fix, but we do nothing. We can not fix the great tragady that has occured, but we can pray that one day G-D will find a way to bless us with His gift of peace. I no longer want to hear about the deaths that happen day after day, I no longer want to hear this is the last war, I want it to be. That day will come soon, I hope. May his memory be a blessing. 6 words repeated over and over at Rabins remembrance on the 6th of November. I sat and listened to the speeches from respected Jews, rabbis, canters, and leaders like Art Egelton, Bob Ray, and Mel Lastman. They came to pay tribute to a leader of Jewish communities everywhere. I sat and I looked at the heads of the Jews that came. I stood and I looked at the river of people that showed up. I thought and I said we were one, we are one, we always will be one, if you knock us we will still be there. I watched as Jews gathered. They sang songs and prayed that never will we forget. that night the Israeli flags, flew higher, the people sang louder, and the people were sadder then ever before. 1000 extra people came, they did not necessarily want to get in they just wanted to be there. They wished to just remember. And I sat, and I watched and I cried and I promised never will I forget the injustice that happened, and never will I forget the love that was shown. And as we stood as one and sang Hatikfa as one an old lady turned to me and smiled. I hope that we will overcome this and live to see a new day. One that he lived, and died for. There will be peace

Dear Mrs. Rabin, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had lived in Israel for several years, lived through the October 1973 War, several terrorist attacks in Tel Aviv and at a friend's kibbutz in the Golan Heights, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that a Jew would intentionally murder a fellow Jew. While I do not agree with the giving up of land, I do want peace for the country, and for my family that has lived there since the first wave of immigrants in the First Aliyah. My uncle, Zeisa Kipnis, was the very first secretary of the very first Knesset ever held in the State of Israel - my roots with your country run very deeply. On behalf of my family here in the U.S., I offer to you, your family and to the country of Israel, my deepest sympathies. Sincerely yours, S. Diamond California, U.S.A.

To everyone who feels the way I feel. I think the world lost one of the most outstanding politicians this century has brought and will bring forward. I also do understand that it is very difficult to actually make the family understand that we, as non family members feel more than just sorry about what happened. It is therefore understanding when the family does not get too much out of our mourning. As far as I am concerned, I just want to support the family, by letting them know that Mr. Yitzhak Rabin did more outstanding things than most of the so called worried politicians in other countries will ever do. I got and will keep the impression that Mr. Yitzhak Rabin really believed in whatever he did, no matter whether it was popular or not. He is one of the few world leaders who finally gave everything for their people - his life. Unfortunately it is the human nature to kill people with visions for the world. But one thing is for sure, he will always be remembered and never ever be forgotten.

I an a christian, originally from Ireland, and I see a terrible dark cloud over your nation. The State and its people must now see just how close you are to the edge. Wake up Israel and look around. Your nation has the good fortune to see what happens when church and state are permitted to mix. The fact is, that church and state are not a good mix,and if we look around the world today, we can all see for ourselves the problems that occur. I believe that the late Mr. Rabin was a man of great strenth ans character. When I heard of his death, I was deeply saddened. I recalled the time when Mr. Sadat was murdered and how I felt then. I was very moved, when I heard the speach from Mrs. Rabin at the memorial service and my family here in Canada felt truly sorry for her. My family wish her well. I hope the State of Israel can manage to unite its people, and that both side will have the courage to sit down and talk about your differences. My sense is that right now, Mr. Peres needs all of the support he can muster to save your country from the evil from within. To see the likes of some misguided fool marching with a banner of Mr. Rabin in an SS uniform in Israel left a very bad taste in my mouth. However I wish that this was just an isolated incident, however I have a feeling that there are a number of sincere ultra fanatical people who will go to any lengths, including urinating on Mr. Rabins Grave as was done yesterday. Again I say, wake up Israel.

I was shocked to hear that Mr Rabin was killed, because I was afraid that it might stop the peace process. I could hardly believe that one of his own people committed this crime. Only when I heard the granddoughter on the radio, I first thought of the family, about what I might feel if somebody would shoot my grandfather. So I want to wish the Rabin fam- ily all the strength they need to carry this loss and I hope that in the end peace will be reached for all. Shalom !!!

Any one who works for piece should be blesed in this troubled world where humanity appears to have never learned lessons from past fights and wars. Peace makers have more courage than war makers. In addition they have vision. Rabin was a visionary to his last moments. To you his wife and his family members my deep condolences. Rest in Peace, shaloum, salam.... in "gengae "rather than" dingi" in my ancient language

Dear Leah, Our family and practically everyone I know were deeply saddened by the loss of your husband, our leader in war and peace. He symbolized for us in many way all what we stood for and believed in. For me, personally, it revoked past feelings of many years ago when we suffered the untimely death of my dear father. Now as then I refused to believe that he is no longer with us. I believe that the living image of Yitshak Rabin will stay with me as long, as long as I live. With deep sympathy and love, Gabriel Kaufmann.

I think tried quite hard to strive for peace; Something which isn't easily accomplished between two fundamentaly different religious groups (the Jewish and Muslim faith). I think that even the best politians find it hard to get anything done while in office because of all the red tape and checks and balances our society has put on government. And while checks and balances may be good for a corrupt government, they hinder a competent one. Anyway, Mr. Rabin was a good man, please accept condolances at his loss to Isreal. William R. As religious Jews we are appalled by Mr. Rabin's murder. PLEASE, do not use this tragedy to divide the people of Israel. Whatever happens in the "peace talks" will be meaningless, if we can't speak and conduct ourselves with civility, especially with those that we do not agree with. May we all be comforted among the mourners of Zion & Jerusalem.

"Yitzhak Rabin, fallen warrior for peace, like Lincoln, may have
begun a process of national reconciliation. The faith of Abraham
is again put to the test in the death of one whose life itself was
a Kaddish. Beyond messianic passions and absolute truth claims,
our humanity struggles for a peace beyond understanding. As

To the family of the late Mr. Rabin, Please allow me to extend you my most sincere condolences. Mr. Rabin was an example of all that is best in a human being. He was not afraid to fight for that which he believed in, be it in wartime or peace. He was courageous in his fight for the state of Israel, and by the same token he was courageous enough to realize that the time was appropriate to turn to his enemies and embrace both them and the opportunity for peace. The veritable shock wave that followed his death was felt strongly even here in the United States, and I can assure you that he will be sorely missed. God bless you in this most trying of times.
