In my paper today was a photo of a large gathering of Jewish

longing for all, to have peace on earth.

I find the murder of Prime Minister Rabin to be as
apalling as the murder of President Kennedy in 1963. I hope the people
of Israel bond together to continue his efforts for peace in the Middle
East. As a Jew I am apalled that another Jew would take the life of
one of his own and believe in my heart that this only typifies the
world's little regard for human life. No one wants to take the time to
talk. They talk with guns and this is wrong! My thoughts are with the
Rabin family and I am sure their strength will allow them to go on and
remember their husband, father and grandfather with love in their
hearts always.

Mrs. Rabin,

I would like to express my condolances and deep sorrow.

Mr Rabin was a brave man, a galant warrior, and a noble

statesman. He fought for peace in the desert and in the

Kneset. He went so far as to make peace with the Arabs. No

one else would have, or could have, done that.

As an American Jew, I have found that Mr Rabin's death is

not just shocking in it's brutality, but by the hand that

perpetrated it. Sabrim don't show these things, but Americans

Jews (for all our violent society) are shaken that one Jew

would murder another. I was taught that we, as a people,

would never do such a thing. I think it's up to us, as a

people, to stop this here and now, before it becomes a

threat to us all.

Again, my heart is with you in this time.

is a shame that someone so full of life and hope should die

The only questions are when, and at what price. When will

addressed and I hope that one day everyone will see what

he did and come to realize that something needs to be done.

Striving towards peace is a much harder thing to do
than

striving towards war.

Yitzhak Rabin showed us the real possibilities

that peace has as a counterargument to hatred.

The price for this quest was a high one but he

For the sacrifice he made to the peace process he will remain

a martyr forever and if the instruments of war are finally laid

to rust then his ultimate legacy will be peace in Israel.

To the Rabin Family,

Words cannot express the deep sorrow that I am feeling.

A great man, and a great leader died. There is just one

question left to be asked: WHY???

I hope our country will stand strong and that the peace

process will continue until peace will rest on all of us.

I would like to share my condolences with the family; we

all feel the deep pain that you are going through. I quite

often sit and wish that something could be done to bring the

past back and to erase this bad dream from all our minds...

but that is quite the impossible. Therefore, all that is left

to do is to look at the future with a lot of hope and to wish

that Rabin didn't sacrifice his life for nothing!!!

May peace come to all of us: "...SHALOM ALEYNU VE'AL KOL

I hope that Israel will be able to carry on the
peace process without Yitzhak Rabin. I realize that it is a very
difficult time for your country and there will be many more challenges
to the peace proces.

There will always be people who are resistant to change unto death, and
these people can do a lot of damage. However, I hope that there is not

process.

This would not be healthy for the country or the world.

It is truly ironic, Yitzhak, that it took

your violent death to make people in and out of

Israel realize the true gifts of peace. Watching

Arafat's pained reaction and listening to King

Hussein and President Mubarak eulogize you brought

tears to my eyes. In this information age, it is important

for all lovers of peace to understand that those who

make the most noise often win. It is a sad but true reality.

Hopefully, the lesson has been learned.

I am the grandson of a Palestinian who immigrated

to Chile at the begining of the century.

Only once, in 1962, he visited his family in the

middle east, who had then "moved" to Lebanon.

He tried to visit his home town, by then in Israel.

He was not allowed to enter Israel,

unless he signed to acknowledge the State of Israel

as the only and legitimate State of his homeland.

He refused. He could not enter.

He came back to Chile, never to see his homeland again.

I simpathized with him.

Today, Mr. Rabin, together with other brave people,

have opened a way to conciliation. We still have

a long way to go, and much to learn.

But we will go and we will learn.

Mr. Rabin:

My soul is filled with sorrow for your departure.

you will be working for your cause for peace.

I salute you.
