My hearfelt sympathy to the Rabin family and the
State of Isarael. Death is always a tragedy, but violence should
always be condemned.

Prime Minister Rabin will always be remembered as a great warrior,
scholar, teacher, peacemaker, father, husband, grandfather, and friend.
His speeches inspired those who came to listen.

As an American Jew, he renewed by faith in the possibility of peace in
the Middle East and the teachings of the Torah and Jewish morality. He
had a dream that will soon become a reality. His loss was felt as
deeply by me as the loss of my own family.

As the grandaughter of Jewish immigrants and the daughter of a soldier
of WWII, I pledge my support and loyalty to the obtainment of peace for
Israel and its neighbors.

Again my thoughts are with the Rabin family in their time of loss of a
husband, father, grandfather, leader, and one who inspire greatness in
the hearts of so many.

SIncerely,

Paula F. Seidman

As a recent immigrant from the former Soviet Union I
feel

quite cynical about politics and politicians. I did not

expect that Yitzhak Rabin's death will touch anything

inside me. I was wrong. I couldn't even take it when I

saw his granddaughter's farewell on CNN, I almost broke in

tears.

As a decent person and politician, Rabin had already secured

his position in history. I wish, however, the mankind could

be able to keep its best alive.

My deepest condolence to the family and to the state.

of a great leader and statesman.
We mourn for Israel's loss of their peacemaker and Prime Minister.
Also, our heartfelt sorrow goes out to the family who have acted with

Yitzhak Rabin, but the press has changed my ways. I hadn't realized the
contributions of Mr. Rabin to the world ,and I think it is sad that
this is what has to happen for someone to be appreciated. Mr. Rabin was
an incredible man, and his contributions will not be forgotten. His
death grieves me, but it must be a good sign if the people of a world
filled with hatred are willing to come together and acknowldge his
once-remarkable, and now missed, presence.

We are still saddened by last week's events.
There is a song we sing in our church and the words
seem most appropriate.

"Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me;
Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our parent, related all are we.
Let me walk with my neighbor in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now.
With every step I take, Let this be my solemn vow:
To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me."

Our thoughts are with the Rabin family, Israel, and all the
world nations.

On Satarday November the 4, the Prime Minester of
Isreal was killed by a Jewish fanatic. On this day we show how violent
people get when it becomes a matter of life and death. Some people
believe that by giving back the land we have won, we give back our
freedom and our right. I belive that we can not give up all the land
we have conquered, however we also can not refuse the hope of the
children that the previous war will be the last. Many people believe
that since Rabin is no longer with us we will be forced to see many
more wars and little peace. G-D forbid this should happen. I can't
give up the hope that one day there will be no Hamas, and no fanatics
like the one that killed Rabin, and the one that killed all the people
in the mosque. In our world today we see many things we wish we could
fix, but we do nothing. We can not fix the great tragady that has
occured, but we can pray that one day G-D will find a way to bless us
with His gift of peace. I no longer want to hear about the deaths that
happen day after day, I no longer want to hear this is the last war, I
want it to be. That day will come soon, I hope.

May his memory be a blessing. 6 words repeated over and over at
Rabins remembrance on the 6th of November. I sat and listened to the
speeches from respected Jews, rabbis, canters, and leaders like Art
Egelton, Bob Ray, and Mel Lastman. They came to pay tribute to a
leader of Jewish communities everywhere. I sat and I looked at the
heads of the Jews that came. I stood and I looked at the river of
people that showed up. I thought and I said we were one, we are one,
we always will be one, if you knock us we will still be there. I
watched as Jews gathered. They sang songs and prayed that never
will we forget. that night the Israeli flags, flew higher, the people
sang louder, and the people were sadder then ever before. 1000 extra
people came, they did not necessarily want to get in they just wanted
to be there. They wished to just remember. And I sat, and I watched
and I cried and I promised never will I forget the injustice that
happened, and never will I forget the love that was shown. And as we
stood as one and sang Hatikfa as one an old lady turned to me and
smiled.

Mrs Rabin;

Please accept my condolences, I was saddened when I found out that
your husband had been assasinated.

My girlfreind, Basia Sobczynski, and I where watching the evening
news when much to our horror we learned of your husbands assasination.

Most important was Basias's response, the next day she cancelled her
tenth and twelfth grade classes and had an open forum on Mr. Rabin and
his leadership in the peace process.

Dear Fox, old friend,
thus we have come to the end of the road
that we were to go together.
My tale is finished -- and so farewell.
But before I go,
I have just one more thing,to tell you:
Something has spoken to me in the night,
burning the tapers of the waning year;
Something has spoken in the night,
and told me I shall die, I know not where, saying:
"To lose the earth you know,
for greater knowing;
to lose the life you have,
for greater life;
to leave the friends you loved,
for greater loving;
to find a land more kind than home,
more large than earth --
"--Whereon the pillars of this earth are founded,
toward which the conscience of the world
is tending -- a wind is rising, and the rivers flow."

As a minister's daughter, I have always respected
differences in those that I have always come in contact with. In a day
and age where we, as a world, are always striving for that perfect
balance, and for education and tolerance, it is always a senseless act
that makes that ignorance and apathetic attitude disgustingly clear.
About 15 years ago, Billy Joel, a musical celebrity, debuted a song
entitled "Only The Good Die Young". This is also a slang phrase in our
society. Your husband was one of those young. For his voice to be
silenced because one of the ignorant members of the world community did
not agree with what it's message was, is one of those things that a
rational justified answer will never be found for. If our world is
going to survive, tolerance is the only path for us to take. Your
husband/father/brother/son has gone on to join that class of people who
were among the other good people who died young -- Martin Luther King,
Jr. for example. His voice echoed with intellect, rationality, and
plain common sense. My deepest condolences are with your family in
this time of upheaval -- in your country and in your life. Black Elk,
an American Native Indian said when looking at the battlefields of
Wounded Knee,

"A people's dream died there. It was a beautiful dream...the
nation's hoop is broken and scattered. There is no center any longer,
and the sacred tree is dead."

Please don't let your husbands dream of peace and civility die. Do not
let that sacred tree die.

In my spiritual beliefs, we are all one. In that
oneness,

there is the struggle between good and evil, not as a separate

entity but rather the expanse of a self larger than the one.

This dedicated man served with honor, the exempliary goal of peace.

First, as a soldier-citizen, and in the end the citizen-soldier.

I am honored to have shared the world with him, Yitzhak in his unique

oneness that transcended hatred and mistrust. Yitzhak Rabin was a

conduit of honor and peace; an example for the world.

A few years ago, I would have never considered
expressing

any sympathy for a prime minister of Israel. I have, however,

seen an incredible emotional and political evolution in Prime

Minister Rabin. Although I am quite cynical, and rather hostile

when engaged in conversation about the U.S. aide to Israel, I find

this man's acheivements to be both moving and enpowering. If nothing
else,

my heart goes out to his family-they are the only ones who have fully
shared

his quiet wisdom and moments of brillance without the judgement and
faithlessness

of others who would not give up their blood war. The world will miss
his intelligence,

as will I.
