pray a lasting peace may be found for all peoples in my lifetime.

Any politician can follow shifts in public opinion.

However, it takes a true leader to set the tone and direction

of his country, not for selfish egotism or blind dogma, but

for humanity and goodness. Words like hero and greatness

are overused in today's society so that when there is

call for them they do not hold the meaning we wish them to.

In his selfless and altruistic acts Prime Minister Rabin has

breathed new life into these hollow words and has become a

role model for all.

In the times where the young's heros are commonly
rock stars & sports players Yitzah Rabin is a true hero. Not only
because he worked for peace but because he evolved as a man. He always
had Israel's security as his number one priority but he was bale to see
that security & happiness comes best in the form of peace with one's
neighboors even if it means one must overcome decades of hatred.

My heart gooes out to the Rabin family & to the people of Israel. The
times that follow will not be easy. They need to remember the "unity"
they felt this week through out the good & bad times. People need to
respect each other & be kind to one another. Yitzhak Rabin understood
this. So must the rest of the world.

I would have to say that in the history of modern
Israel,
Yitzhak Rabin was like Joshua and Moses combined---warrior,
spiritual leader in crisis, a bullwark against overwhelming
odds, and a statesman par excellance. I was 10 years old
when the Philadelphia Inquirer listed special full color
coverage of the Six-day war, and that victory, alone, was an
impressive achievement to a young boy, but later I learned
how pervasive was his influence on Israel throughout her
history.

I can only hope, that the dramatic yet tragic way in which
he was recalled to G-d from the world stage will underscore
his message, and bring minds and spirits together from all
sides towards his desired goal. He made his exit like Moses
did, departing before the large assembly of the children of
Israel to his hallowed place in history for all eternity.

Maybe his final role, as martyr for the cause of peace, will
be his most influential and important role, yet, in shaping
the future of Israel for a long time to come, in a positive
way. A warrior like Rabin would agree: dying suddenly in
the service of ones country is usually preferable to the
slow atrophy of ones faculties in older age that Menachem
Begin experienced after retirement. Begin died, not by his
own choice, a depressed reclusive and lonely man. Rabin was
still at the top of hisgame at 72, and was happilly
surrounded by multitudes of friends just moments before
he was torn from us. That was his final victory.

MY heart goes out to the Rabin family, to the state
of Israel,

and all countries of the region. A great person has been lost.

This loss is all the more poignant when it is considered that

he, a soldier, recently opted for constructive peace with his

former enemies. The world shall indeed miss him.

It is my sincerest hope that Israel and its neighbours find

peace, both with eachother and within themselves.

May the family of Yitzak Rabin also find peace.

change a world that deserately needs changing. Most sadly, it is the
survivors who carry the pain. We hope that all members of the Rabin

find some solace in knowing that Mr. Rabin's legacy of peace will save
many, many good, young people throughout Israel and the Middle East
from suffering the way your Family is suffering. G-d be with you.

I have said to my community that when

we typically say Alav Hashalom, we mean

*rest in peace*. In the case of PM Rabin,

Alav Hashalom takes on a higher dimension.

It is beyond doubt that any peace is because

of his works. On him, Alav, is the peace, Hashalom,

that he helped to bring.  It is not just his epitath;

it is his legacy.

Everything has already been said. The pain and the
feeling of loss are great. Like everybody else these days, I've been
trying to think what I should have done and I haven't.

I always believed in Rabin and this government and admired his ability
and courage to change his views when he realized that the times have
changed.

However, I was one of those called now 'the silent majority'. I
believed in the peace process and voted for it, but I forgot about the
people behind the scenes.

I forgot that there was a man who had to stand all by himself against
so many enemies.

I forgot that he and his family are only people, too, and like all
people, they also need to feel sympathy and trust.

For this I am so sorry.

I can only say, that I will do my part, so that the silent majority
will be silent no longer.

"Prime-minister was shot at peaceful rally".

I do not know where to begin:

External foe became his close ally,

The enemy has grown up from within.

"To bring the peace, the talks should go faster".

My own views were different from his,

So many people saw it as disaster;

But who could think his life to end like this?

At sixty-eight, the killer was created;

Him, how'd been afforded to ignore?

A year before that, Rabin devastated

Five Arab armies at the Six-days war.

At Middle East, the logic doesn't count;

These things I can at no rate explain --

The Arab leaders grieved on Herzl Mount,

While Jewish soldier was to cause the pain.

The history has teached that obligations

One takes for peace are rather fruitful... But

Exceptions do exist, as own nations

Assassinated Rabin and Saddat.

"We need the shield, the sword", I said -- I told that

My views were very different from his.

He didn't wear the shield, and he was murdered.

I feel ashamed. I'm sorry. Rest In Peace.

As I got older, I realized the seriousness of the situation. Your
leaders must be strong and wise. Mr. Rabin was such a leader. Strong
in war, wise in peace. Each of you, family and countrymen, will go on.
You will all make his dream of peace become a reality. In a

The late Rabin was their Prime Minister too, and except for

small extreme groups, the the political battle was conducted

in legitimate ways. The best opportunity to unite the nation was

not used, for no right wing leader was invited to speake in the

Everyone can see that right wing people mourne Rabin as left wing

wins the admiration of people worldwide. His death should not be in
vain, as the Israelis express their grief and embark on this journey of
reflection and lead the world in singing the SONG OF PEACE!

My condolences to you and the entire state of Israel.

I have seen how he has continously strived for peace

Lea and the Family,

I'm a 16 year old student from Holon, here in israel.

I wish to express my deepest condults to you on your hardest

moments .

I admired Yitzhak Rabin. when he was murdered , I felt as if

a part of me, inside , died with him. I feel like he was a

father to me, and so does my friends. Once I felt secured and

now all the values I grew upon are collupsing. Rabin is not

there to defend me.

I was in the rally on the 4'th of november. I felt

that there was a great majority for peace in Israel. i still

do.

Rabin is my hero. I am sure that his will of peace will

come true , at least by my generation who wants it more

than anything.

I want to say that I am sorry for not being there when you

needed . I will never let that happen again.

May G-d comfort you among the mourners of Zion and

The Israel that we know and love is on the brink of a major

catastrophe of pitting brother against brother, of SIN'AT

CHINOM among our people. Rhetoric, when used

indiscriminately by all sides, has a way of getting out of

control, especially when the stakes are so high.

We pray that the Prime Minister's tragic and despicable

passing will act as a signal to everyone here that we

must realize that our situation has gone beyond the "red

zone" into the danger area, and that we must heal ourselves

by learning to speak to each other with love and understanding

and not hate and intolerance. Only in this way, will the

Prime Minister's life's work be realized for the benefit of

all Am Yisrael.

If there is anything we can do to help you in your's or

the country's time of need, we are more than happy to do so.

YTZHAK RABIN was a special man.

although I don't accept his way for the peace procces with

the palestinians , I still feel that

we (the Israeli pepole) lost more then a man,

we lost a great leader ,a man that I realy don't know

if there any one like him in the Israeli politics.

and I am sitting now ,near my computer , and writing those

things on a man that every move , made by him

at the peace procces with palestinians made me so angre

that I could explode,

a man that wanted to give up

the greater place in Israel:The golan Hights.

a man that I respected so much.

When the Israeli-Joradnian peace contract was sign up,

on the 26th of october 1994 ,I send a fax to Mr.Rabin,

a fax which started with those lines:

"...Let me congratulate you & sent you my real apriciation & support

for this move...only a coredge man which knows what he is doing could
do that...

qulities which you had proven that you have..."

bottom line:

I am sorry and a shamed that one of our pepole killed

with cold blood that great man.

I was really shocked when I first heard about the

assasination. I heard about it the next morning, coming

to school. I am in 9th grade, and I always late to school,

and the teachers know that. So I entered the class smiling,

but the teacher said: "Maybe today you'll erase your smile

from your face ?". I understood nothing, came to my desk

and set down. But then I heard what they were talking about,

but didn't get it. I asked a boy and he said to me: "What,

don't you know ?! Rabin was killed !". I still couldn't

get it, but it slowly came to me. That was terrible. I

didn't believe, and when I began to - I didn't want to.

I wasn't always agree with things he did, but I'm sure the

whole idea is great and means alot for the whole world. The

peace in the Middle East must come someday. And I'm sure

the solution is not to killing all the jews or all the

arabs. The solution is to come to an agreement, which would

be acceptable for the both sides.

I hope there woud be no more assasinations. The world

would be almost perfect without non-native death, crime

and violence. That is was Rabin's central point, and that

MUST be the central point and the main idea of all the

people in the world.

Rabin was very decisive of making peace but not decisive enough in

stopping the opposers, the bastards from the right, dictated

by Bibi Netaniahu.

The lesson that this government have to study is that the

settlers, the opposers and all other shadowy sides of the

israely society have to be heavily controlled by the police.

The blockade of roads, was the first sign of braking the israely

law and democracy. Orthodox Jews, who want to close road have

to be treated also at the same manner as the settlers.

I hope that Peres, who is a rather intelligent man, will be

less merciful concerning those signs of law braking.

I also hope that the assassination will catalize the peace

process and make the peace Rabin's most beautiful and

unforgattable memorial.

P.S. Noas speech made me crying.

Amazing that a few militants who would want to
destroy the

peace process would commit such a terrible crime, and find

Rabin's vision of peace more strongly supported than ever.

Just this morning, an Israeli poll showed that currently 74%

of Israeli's are now supporting his peace plan, up from the

previous 50/50 split.

Thank God.

I was tremendously shocked and saddened to hear the
news. Mr. Rabin was a realistic man who despite all his suspicions and
fears, did what he thought was necessary to insure the future of Israel
as a democratic Jewish state. He always showed remarkable bravery ,
sound judgement, aand a love and a concern for the Jewish people. He
will be missed.

I'm sure this tragedy, a great loss to the nation's confidence and

sounds a push to better life here in our region. I'm sure Shimon Peres

My sincere condolence to the Rabin family on the
loss of

their husband, father, grandfather and more. My condolences

to the rest of the world on the loss of a man of Peace...a

man who was truly doing God's work. Those who pursue violence

in the name of God profane His Name and listen to those who

self-righteously claim to know His will. May Mr. Rabin's

family feel the warmth of his spirit through their own very

special memories. May Israel redeem her spirit by pursuing

Mr. Rabin's godly task of making peace in the world.

I was totally shocked by the assault on Mr. Rabin.

The man who was preaching peace killed by violence.

The man whose wisdom was opposed by ignorant people.

The man who has set his own emotions aside to serve

the peace process killed by those who couldn't set their

emotions aside.

The world still has a lot to learn...

Let Mr. Rabin be our tutor, now more than ever!
