Although I was too young to appreciate his figure as a warrior, in the begining of my adult life I have more than appreciated his political goals which have resulted in unimaginable prospects for the middle-east. The images of Rabin following his goal to make the Israeli quest for peace a reality have filled my eyes on numerous occasions with tears of joy and disbelief. A leader who changed the face of the whole history of Israel. I'm really sad about what happened. I've been watching the T.V., listening to the news and reading every single article in the newspaper. I also was in "KIKAR RABIN" with my friends. I brought a guitar and started to sing songs for Itzhak Rabin and for the continuation of the peace process. I'd like to continue the thing Rabin had the desire to do : PEACE. I've never realized how important he was for me and for the whole nation. This murder gave us such an outrageous shock. I feel bad it had to be this such a thing in order to wake us up. WE HAVE TO STOP THE VIOLENCE AND BELIEVE IN THE PEACE. I hope this message will reach the ones who need to read it. I'm sorry for the Rabin family. I'm sure this is a leader who would never be forgotten by us all. I wrote a song for the peace process and I made a convocation in my school and we sang songs for him. I also wrote an article to the school's newspaper. Itzhak Rabin was in my school last year for a lecture. Dear Rabin Family: Yitzhak Rabin was a great man both as a warrior and as a peacemaker. As an American I don't understand all of the pains and difficulties of living in Israel. However, I can understand a little. My cousins are from Jerusalem. The brother, Jacob Rayman was stationed on the Golan frontier when the Syrians attacked in 1973. Three years later I visited the observation post where he was slain by the Syrians. To this day the memories are painful for me. My heart aches first for the Rabin family and their immense personal loss; beyond that, I grieve that the best hope for peace that Israel has seen in its existence has been struck down. It was a tragic scene, directed by the grim reaper, orchestrated by foolish right wing extreemists and made possible by mood setting by a not so right winged Israeli public.
