Mr. Rabin had been a great man who advocated peace in a country where such a thought who had been almost impossible. He succeeded and now that he had been summoned to heaven, do not grief for him but pray for him instead. I believe he would not want to see all of us in the world in sadness. The best way to remember the great man, who had been a peace messager sent by God would be continuing the peace process that he has started. I firmly believe if one day both Arabs and Israelis can live in peace, high up in heaven, he will be smiling and thinking that he had not die in vain.

There are no words in the world to express the grief of your family. Please, recieve my candid condolences and be sure that I'll do my best to fight to the cause Yitskhak Rabin dedicated his life for. Unfortunately, only now do I and many others realize what a horrible mistake we made by just silently standing by the government and Mr.Rabin and relinquishing "the streets" to the rightwing barbars. It's so painful to realize that He died without knowing I supported him and his cause. Please, forgive me... (it's so much late...)

I am what's known in New York as a goy. In some ways I have no right to be 'here'. I do know there is a prayer Kaddish but do not know its text. But because there was no place for me to stand in silence with Jews, which I would have preferred to do above all other things on that dreadful day after, I hope whatever Prayer for the Dead I may offer will reach the Unnameable. Meanwhile it is for us who remain to continue the work of all those.. Martyrs, we goyim say.. who gave their lives that the world might be better. From my tradition: Requiem eternam dona ei Domine et lux perpetua luceat ei.

I have never cryed over a person in my life. I did not cry when my grandmother died. I did not cry when soldiers were killed by terroerists. I did not cry when men, women & children killed in accidents. But I did cry when Rabin was killed. I didn't know him. He wasn't part of my familly, nor was he my friend, but still, I cryed. Why? I don't know and it doesn't really matter. The fact is that Rabin is dead and most of us, israelis, are in a state of shock, grieving his death. As W. H. Auden have put it: "He was my North, my South, my West, my East..." May his sol rest in peace.

Rabin has devoted all of his life to making Israel a better place. He was truly a great, noble man. I feel that Israel would never be the same without him- somehow he managed to preserve our union and morale. Now that he is dead, I feel that a part of us, the people of Israel, died with him. May his soul rest in peace- he certainly deserves it.

I have never been moved so much before by the death of someone I have not known personally. He symbolized so much the hopes so many of us had for the peace which had eluded Israel since its foundation, and we all fear that without his leadership that this elusive peace may slip away. I can only hope that those committed to peace will be more vocal now, as nothing else would serve better to perpetuate the memory of this remarkable man. His death is a tragedy, not only for those who knew him of course, but also for anyone even remotely interested in the peace for Israel.

To the Rabin family and all of Israel, As a person who did not agree with Mr. Rabin's policies I must condemn in the strongest terms the heinous crime which was committed witout rhyme or reason. My heart goes out to the Rabin family at this great personal loss, and the people of Israel at the loss of a great leader. At this tragic moment, it is time for all factions to set aside our differences and establish a national forum, consisting of representatives accross the political, social, and religous spectrum. This forum must convene urgently in order to establish] principles by which the people of Israel may live together in peace despite their differences. My sincerest condolences, Drew Tick

Sympathy from a small island ... The 6 days war, was a testimony of the bravery and faith, intelligence, endurance and the spirit of the Isreali people. News of his achievements, we have followed, with amazement and awe. In his youth, like Joshua, he was a great warrior, but in his prime, he was a brave man of peace. Pains us to know the world has lost one of the greats, who worked for the peaceful co-existence of humankind. But in his death, the world has gained a role model for peace, which everyone should follow. Shalom The BEAR salutes to peace-maker. Yogi *8-)

I want to extend my deepest condolances to the Rabin Family, the State of Israel, and Jews everywhere. I have been so proud to be Jewish this past week, as I've watched Israel,as a country, begin to search its soul for understanding, not blame. It seems to me so different from American reactions to tragedy where everyone looks to place blame elsewhere. I hope that we, American Jews, can use the tragic death of Mr. Rabin to also begin to search our souls about what it means to be Jewish in the Diaspora and what we owe to the country Israel. Being a firm believer in Rabin's way, my heart is heavy over the loss of such a great man. Like many others I feel guilty for turning a blind eye to the manifestations of the desease which has spread amongst our people. It has been said that Israel shall never be the same again, and I am begining to think that such a drastic change might be the only hope for our clearly unhealthy society. I deeply hope and believe, that Rabin's way, the way to true peace, will not be lost. It will live on in hearts of the Israeli youth. In these troubled times, only Rabin's way can lead us to the light of peace, and I can only hope we follow it.

May you and all Israel be blessed with long life. I will not forget nor allow others to forget the integrity and sincerity of Yitzchak Rabin Zichrona Livracha. Please, I beg of all Jews, Palestinians and other Arab peoples and Moslems to continue in the struggle for peace, against all its ignorant opponents, in the name of Yitzchak Rabin of Blessed Memory. As a Jew and child of a holocaust survivor, I say that peace and reconciliation between the Jews and Arabs and the realization that all Jews, Moslems and Christians jointly (and only jointly) fullfill God's promise to Abraham (i.e. "your children shall be as numerous as the stars in the heavens") can be the only justifiable meaning and purpose behind all the sufferring which my family and people have endurred. God Bless Yitzhak Rabin for having the courage and wisdom to lead the way. We must also have compassion for our fanatical brothers and cousins who are blinded by fear and unable to see peace as the opportunity to fulfill our true destiny which is rooted in mutual respect, compassion and love.

G-d sent a modern day Issac to be bound, but this time used no Abraham but a Rasha. In doing so, not only was a great Tzadik sacrificed, but G-d the Eternal by this Kuel Hashem. Our most sincere condolences to the Rabin family and to all the people of Israel. It is apparent now that being part of the "silent majority", and expressing our support only at the elections once every 4 years is not good enough. At least we have learned from the tragic death of Prime Minister Rabin that it is necessary to be more involved at all time, express clearly our support for the actions and policies we believe in, and actively oppose to violence. We are sure that many others feel like us, and we hope the legacy of Mr. Rabin will push us all to play a more active role in defending democracy, continue on the road towards peace, and not condone violence. Shalom Prime Minister Rabin, and SHALOM for all of us in Israel.
