Yitzhak Rabin Condolence Book

I would like to take the time to say that Prime
Minister Rabin 

was a man who I have much respect for.  He was a man who

contrary to what many people origionally felt, tried to make life in

Israel safer for its people and for those who wanted to 

return to their homeland.  He fought against those that were

too narrowminded to realize that peace in Israel was actually possible
and necessary.

He will be remembered for many years to come and my condolences

to his family.

   Several years ago I put in my electronic signature this

observation:

   "The most outrageous things have always been done by"

        people who were 100% sure they were right!"

How I wish I were wrong. A short time later there was the

Hebron massacre and now this despicable murder. 

   I hope that this foul deed may prove to lead to the 

opposite of what the extremists wanted to achieve, as it

happens in most cases. The blood of Yitzhak Rabin, shed by

beastly humans, will move forward the peace process and 

overcome the opposition of those who were against the policy

and the direction he was leading. It's a poor comfort for the

great loss of the family but let's hope this will the last

meaningful act of those who used the Torah (kardom lakhpor 

ba) to call for the muder of Rabin and for blasphemy of the

name of God (hilul hashem). If not in prison, let them lie in

public hatred of all the people in Israel and in the whole

At first I was utterly ashamed that a Jew could have
done this. But after watching the funeral on big screen t.v. with my

a world that has been forever changed by Yitzhak Rabin and the work he

representatives from coutries that either didn't recognize Israel's
very existence until  very recently -- or for that matter

respect. Shimon Peres is correct: Yitzhak Rabin may have been killed,
but his work continues. I truly do believe that Israel and her people
want -- and NEED -- peace. Thank you Mr. Rabin for giving the world a
chance to see it come true. There is a candle burning outside my window
in your memory. And when I return to Israel this coming summer as I
have done for the past two summers, I'll be sure to come pay my

To the Rabin family,

 As a jew in Britain, I was bitterly upset on hearing the news of the
death of your beloved Yitzhak. I spent last year in Israel, on a shnat
program with my youth movement "yehuda hatzair", (FZY in England). I
heard the Prime Minister speak at a peace rally for youth near
Tiberias, and though my hebrew was limited, I understood much of what
was said. The passion flowed with every word that was uttered. The
Peace movement has lost it's greatest, Israel her finest, you, your
dearest. I share in your loss, and although now in  galut, I long for
the time when I will (please G-d), return to Israel to pay my respects
to a great man.

 I wish you a long life, and pray that you will be spared from further
sorrows, but you have the consolation that Yitzhak's loss is felt the
world around, by jew and non-jew alike,
