His Honor Rabin labored for years. Will pray for the progress

Shalom. I didn't know him personally, but I'd like to express my condolences of the loss of such a wonderful man. When I was younger, I thought that there were no chances for peace. As I saw Rabin, I felt that a true force of God was acting on this earth. May God bring you the peace (of heart) that Rabin began to bring to the region. Thomas S. Marlowe

Dear Mrs. Rabin & Family, We are still in shock over the cold blooded murder of your husband and father. Although we disagree with the manner in which the government is handling the peace negotiations we cannot ever condone murder. We are all Jews and Jews may argue, we may be stubborn but this was a real chilul hashem. You are hurting and certainly bitter, but we ask you to honor your husband and father by taking the high road. Please do not stoop to the level of blaming all religious people for the act of one insane person. We have lost many friends who died fighting at the Suez canal in 1973 and you should only realize how deeply we religious people love our land and our people. It is our desire to go on aliyah in 3 years. We do not want to come to a country that is divided by hatred. Rav Kook loved all the citizens of Israel, be they religious or not. Please understand that many of us are also in pain because of your husband's and father's murder. We are hurting because he has become the 201st victim of the peace process, but his life was taken by one of our own, and this pain is more difficult to bare. Mrs. Rabin, as difficult as it might be for you, this is the opportunity to help heal the wounds. Please take the high road. Help the healing process instead of stoking the coals of the fire of hatred. Hashem yenachem etchem im kol mitablei yehuda veyerushalayim. Sincerely, Judy & Mark Frankel & Family

No one can possibly say anything that could lessen the personal pain the family feels. But know that all of us share in the public aspect of that pain, for a great hero of the Jewish people has been cruelly taken from us -- a man who embodied all that is best in our teachings. The Fellowship of Recociliation, an international peace group, has sent me a copy of its condolences, which I shall share with my congre- gation, all of whom join in expressing our condolences. We pray that Yitzhak will not have died in vain, that Israel will know true Shalom, and that with that Shalom will come a measure of personal healing for you as well.

The tragic death of Mr. Yitzhak Rabin made us understand things that we could not understand before. We all wanted peace, but some of us did not find the way to do it. Yitzhak Rabin understood it long time ago... The intereviews we saw on TV, the papers we read, all of them are now look diferent. The good way - Yitzhak Rabin`s way - is now our way. Since he is not among us today, we must continue his way. His holy spirit is watching us. I hope we will continue this way - P E A C E !!!

It is a sad day to lose a man of peace. Too many times this has happened, and yet, we say ³never again.² It is time for the world to make total commitment, so that we will never have to repeat those words, ³never again.²

Since the dark days of the Holocaust Mr Rabin worked for the good of Jews everywhere. Though many of us stop growing as we age, Mr. Rabin continued to grow and change and adapt as the world changed. He served as an example and a goad for the Jews everywhere and the State of Israel, not letting us stagnate. It is frieghtening to think of continuing without his help. Our loss is more than we yet know.

The murder of Rabin left me empty. Now I know He was a symbol for the Israeli in me. In most of us. Rough, fighting, honest, straight forward, bully, young; very young, clumsy, dyslectic, bright, swift. This murder killed the Israeli in many of us. We are not the same as a nation, as individuals, as members of a congregation. I cannot forget how clumsy he was. He was our beloved clumsy. The clumsy in all of us. We loved laughing at his clumsiness. Yet, he was courageous enough to follow the difficult route of following the foreseen and designed by others’ peace making with the Palestinians. There are of course some artificial sweeteners: he was ‘old’ and had a wonderful and full life, and his death would probably make peace making easier, but, the loss is enormous, almost unbearable.

I could never think that one jew can raise his hand against another. My mind can not embrace this. But still awfull happened and it tells that some "layers" in modern society are not prepared for the future or this Future had not found place in their mind - and we, I think, need to better prepare ourself for coming Future - the world became to small for war. There are many other ways to be strong, to dominate, to make others to respect. War will never give positive results. People should be brought up with an idea of coexistance, that this coexistance in enavitable - but it is very LONG way to go.

I was shocked like everyone to here what everyone heard that saturday. As a muslim I believe when the hand of peace is extended It should never be refused and people who dont respect that have no place in heavens. Prime Minister Rabin was the bravest and the best of Israelites in modern times and yes he extended the peace to his neighbours when it was needed most. When I thought of anarchy in world and especially in Middle East, people like P.M Rabin came to mind as a hope for peace. Lets by gones be by gone. Lets build our relationships on peace Jews & Muslims where ever we are. Even Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him showed us how sweet are the fruits of forgiveness. Let us reach the common grounds and lets not focus on our differences, since we all have differences. Lets end amicably what P.M. Rabin started instead of creating fear and hate. Assalaam-o-alaikum & Shalom to all who beleive.

PM Rabin was a brave man, in the sense that he has the courage and bravery and courage, both as a soldier and as a politician, to seek peace for his country. Although he knew that the road was going to be long and arduous, he pressed on.
