Prime Minister Rabin was not a man with whom I necessarily shared opinions and views but was a man for whom I have deep respect and admiration. He was a true moser nefesh for klal yisrael and a most respectable leader. Every Jew needs to have a profound sense of gratitude to Prime Minister Rabin. I only hope that this tragedy will result in the Jewish community stopping for introspection and realizing the need to focus on true internal peace within the Jewish community. Now is the time for ahavat chinam. Both the right and left in Israel need to consider the ramifications of their divisive approaches. I would like to add that I consider myself a religious zionist.

I was appalled to hear the news. Why is it that great souls in the history of mankind who attempt at bringing harmony and world peace meet such a tragic end, and quite often at the hands of the very people they represent? Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and now Yitzhak Rabin. If not anything, I hope this serves to band together the two sides to a greater commitment for peace. I belong the the left wing camp, but I did nothing when the vicious public slundering was sounded by those who oppose peace. I thought that having voted for the peace camp, I completed my share of backing up the people who tried to make peace a reality. After Rabin's assassination I realised that I had been naive.
