We are deeply shocked and saddened by the murder

and wish to extend our condolences to the Family.

The assassination of Rabin by one of our own people was

a great shock to people on both sides of the conflict.

In a way, Rabin death, has done more for peace than even

he, who lead the way, could have imagined.

I vividly remember the day when Egyptian president Saddat

was murdered by islamic fundamentalists for making peace

with Israel. Israeli hearts were crying for Saddat,

there was almost no exception. The circle is now closed.

We hear people from Arab countries calling Larry King Live,

to express their sorrow.

King Hussein of jordan is giving an eulogy that stuns us

all, he states in the clearest way possible, that the

commitment for peace is absolute, he makes a parallel

between the assassination of his grandfather king Abdalla

who was shot in front of his very eyes and that of Rabin's,

both by extremists. Representatives from Gulf countries

are coming to the funeral and discussing opening consulates

in Israel. President, Mubarak who never visited Israel

before, feels obliged to come to the funeral. There's no

doubt that Rabin had given us the ultimate sacrifice so

peace would come faster.

Yithak Rabin, who blessed us with peace,

May you rest in Peace

No words can express the grief that I felt when I
heard of the assassination of Prime-Minister Yizhak Rabin. I know that
I will remember the moment when I first heard of his death for years to
come. I was numb, sitting in front of the television set, gazing at
the images of mourning from the State of Israel with my mouth agape in
disbelief. Then I would start sobbing, and return to gaze once more at
the images, horrorstruck. Never could I have imagined that something so
terrible could possibly happen in the country where I was born and
spent my childhood. Leah and the family, my heart goes out to you; my
heart grieves to no end. May Israel know the peace that Yizhak worked
to achieve. His legacy will forever be remembered.

Love,

Tal

On behalf of our entire family we would like to
express our sincere sympathy to you (Mrs. Rabin), your family
(children, grandchildren) the entire country of Israel. We have
followed the history of the Prime Minister for many years and have
always been very proud of the work he has done and the triumphs he has
achieved in his work towards peace. Your grief is shared by all people
of all nations and we hope that in some small way by our message to
you, you will see what a large impact he has had on all peoples around
the world. My son will be 11 years old next month and I know he would
absolutely die if he ever lost his grandpa so I can appreciate the
sorrow your grandchildren must be feeling. In Canada the services for
the Prime Minister were televised on CNN t.v. and I'm very proud to say
that both my son and I watched with great pride as the leaders of all
countries stood and paid honour to your husband. He was a good man and
he truly was brought down by the one cause he worked so hard to strive.
My only hope is that the people of your country and those around you
will work even harder to continue to achieve his goal. Again, please
know that we are all praying for you and we all feel your loss in some
small way. We shall keep you all in our prayers always with the hope
that one day you will be able to get over your loss and remember all
the good that your husband did for all people. As I'm sure you heard,
Prime Minister Jean Cretien went through an assasination attempt on
Sunday before just before he was getting ready to leave for your
husbands service. He and his wife were both held up in their bedroom
while a mad man walked their hallways with a knife. I truly don't
understand what the world is coming to today, why do people want to
kill and destroy all the goods things in the world? I guess it is not
our job to judge these people who do such wrong. All we can do is pray
that they will see the wrong in their ways and give up bad for good. We
will truly keep you and your country in our prayers.

hope more

whine less

shine more

hate less

love more and better things are yours!"

I have lived for the last 8 years in Mevaseret

I personaly would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Rabin
family and would also like to extend the condolences of the YK chapter
of the Alfa Epsilon Pi Fraternity of witch I am a brother.

I would also like to share with you a speach that I will be giving
tomorow in memory of Yithak Rabin.

One of the things you learn living in Israel is that Israelis are
a compasionate people. Three times durring the year, the nation pays
tribute to the fallen by sounding an air raid siren and standing with
heads bowed. This sunday, at 2 in the afternoon, the sirens went off
all over Israel for two minutes to symbolize the nations grief over our
fallen leader. This loss sysymbolizes a loss of inocence for many
Israelis, simply because the person that murdered rabin was a religious
jew.

Rabin was not killed because of political dissagreement or the
transferance of land to the Palestinians, but because we, the Israeli
people, have allowed for and have accepted a rise in verbal violence,
which inevitably leads to physical violence.

Rabin wanted to bring peace. He felt that the road to peace is
with our former enemies, the Palestinians. He was praised by most for
this. But by a small minority he was considered a traitor, and as such
they felt any means for Rabin's removal from power was justified.

I would like to quote Rabbii Elli Horowitz from Kiriyat Arba, a
setelment in the Hebron Area. " If I had a brother who lived a life of
decadence, I might disagree with him, but when he died, I would feel
pain - he remains my brother."

Yigal Amir, you have killed your own brother...

To Leah Rabin and her family (and my "larger" family

As a Jew here in the United States, I feel so helpless and far away and
yet so close emotionally to Israel and the people there. This is the
greatest tragedy as a Jew that I have ever felt, and I can't imagine
the sorrow ever passing. Please know that my thoughts are with you
constantly. I do believe that the people of Israel will be drawn even
closer together, and that your husband, father, and grandfather, a king
for our generation, is with the angels, as your granddaughter Noa so
beautifully said.

To Noa, be strong and brave. As someone who is also young and has lost
all of her grandparents, I know the pain you are feeling (although
naturally on a different level). You have to know he is so proud of
you, and is smiling down and watching over you. I feel and taste your
tears as if they were my own.

To Leah Rabin and her family (and my "larger" family
in Israel)

With a single bullet not only did a man die, but a
part of Israel. A part of myself is dead, as well. The Zionist Dream
is shattered, but we have to build on what we have - we must. We must
go on, we must endure. To the Rabin family, my deepest condolences in
this terrible time.

Rabin was a great hero to the Jewish people and to
Israel.
While many people may not have agreed with his politics, we
must all agree that he gave more freely of himself than
nearly any other man would have been willing or able to in
order to benefit his nation. This is a great loss to Israel
and Zionism. Rabin's legacy of peace, however, was not
destroyed by an assassin's bullet. It lives on, and for
this, all people of the world owe Rabin, Z"L, a great debt.

I am really sorry and share in your grief over the
brutal assasination of Prime Minister Rabin. Whoever thought that the
day would ever come where one Jew would kill another Jew merely over a
matter of foreign policy. I may not have agreed with P"M Rabin over
the ongoing negotiations with Syria over the Golan Heights, but this
crime is an ouitrage and an embarassment to the Jewish people.
Nothing short of the death penalty will suffice. However, I know that
come what may Israel is strong and will survive until the coming of the
Mashiach.

I will always remember Yitzchak for four things:

1. He was the military leader of Israel's 1967 war of

aggression.

2. He was the architect of the "mailed fist" policy through

which he attempted with unspeakable cruelty to repress

the Intifada.

3. He was the one who gave the order to "break their bones"

by which his soldiers cfrippled some thousands of

Palestinian children,

4. He was a sufficiently inteligent political leader to

realize, albeit with the help of the US State Dep't, that

Israel could not suppress the just struggle of the Palestinian

people by brute force alone - ergo the "peace process"..

On my first day as a young soldier, I had the honor
to

meet Yitzhak Rabin, who was interviewing for TV.

At the end he shook my hand and wished me success.

Today of all times I consider that day to be one

of my happiest and luckiest of all.

The Warmth and the Light

------------------------

Yesterday I went to visit the place where our late prime minister

Yitzhak Rabin has gave his life in a moment in which

he must have felt very happy.

After hearing and seeing such slander against this man

for the past few years, Yitzhak Rabin faced a crowd that

is estimated to be around 150,000 people, giving him

what turn out to be the their last respect while he was alive.

I wonder what prime minister Rabin had felt standing in front

of this amazing crowd, among some of the most admired performers

in Israeli music - singing in joy and in respect songs for peace.

The peace which has been his dream, both as a military leader

and a great political one.

It is sad but these sad and terrible events of death are

exposing the best of what our people have to offer -

The strong feeling of warmth and light the came out from

the thousands of candles arranged in between pictures

and touching quotes, seemed to radiate from the souls

of people surrounding them.

The entire square seemed to glowing and the red candles

scattered among the white ones have melted to what seemed

like stains of blood.

I could hear in the amazing silence people mumbling words like

"it is terrible", "it is bad, very bad", and no eyes could be

found that didn't have a glossy look of tears of shock and pain.

Just at the rear parking lot where the piercing pain is at his peak,

children of youth organizations surrounded by huge crowd were

lighting up the candles that blew away from the wind that seemed

cold as death itself.

The wall of the municipal building that is facing the parking lot,

has been covered by what would be considered an act of hooligans

at any other day - hundreds and thousands of slogans, songs and

everything that came to mind in this place of agony and distress.

I don't remember such a sad day, we cannot let the dream of peace

die with this man that seemed to be a part of the Israeli essence.

His death might have been the shock that our people have needed

to stop the domestic controversys and wakes us up to a time

of all that is matter is the dream of this man that took his life.

Yitzhak Rabin - a great man in his life and monumental in his death.

With the most profound respect, admiration and hope,

        Avi Varon.

era, the passing of Yitzhak Rabin shall be forever remembered.

All of us must always remember November 4, 1995. This was the

day when a truly great man was taken from amongst us. It was

a sad moment for a man, who as once a warrior of death, was now

a soldier for peace. For that, Yitzhak Rabin has few equals.

Above all else, to deny the peace, would mean to deny Rabin of

violently take the life of a man of peace. I don't live in the Middle

tolerate each others differences. Please forsake the warfare. If you

I am still dazed and in disbelief. Last night we
held a memorial service here in Atlanta

at Ahavath Achim Synagogue. 3000 people were in attendance.

The room was filled with sobbing.

We have lost a great man. No one could ever be more identified with
the people of Israel

and the land of Israel than Yitzchak Rabin.

To Leah and her family, our hearts go out to you. Noa, you spoke so
beautifully

that you brought the whole world to tears. No one can replce teh
grandfather that

you lost. He was a precious human being, strong but caring.

It is frightening to think that it should come to this--that

a Jew woul dtake teh life of another Jew, of one who gave so much of
himself

for his people. This murder goes against everyting that is holy in our
tradition,

against all th evalues of Torah, against the high ideals embodied

by medinat Yisrael.

Those who shared in the harsh and violent rhetoric that made this
tragedy possible

have much soul searching to do.

We pray that out of this tragedyt should come a renewed resolve to

pursue the path in which Rabin has guided us.

May teh memory of the righteous be for a blessing. Surely

Rabin is seated now at the right hand of God.

means making peace with all of your neighbors, the jews and the

this felt like the loss of President Kennedy years ago. It
is a tragedy that touches the deepest heart of a generation.

I wish to express my most profound sympathy to the

Rabin family, the State of Israel, and the citizens of the

world who wish for a united peace among all peoples. The

news of Prime Minister Rabin's assasination on Saturday came

as a great shock to me and my family. Upon looking of the

proud photgraphs of Yitzhak Rabin with Shimon Peres and

Yasser Arafat at the White House, and in Stockholm for an

events I thought would never come in my lifetime, I was

greatly saddened by the loss of such a great man. I hope

the Middle Eastern countries will not abandon the peace

process, but accelerate it, and bring peace to the people.

	The killing must stop.

History has too many examples of violence leading to

devastating conclusions, and I hope that in the shadow of

this brutal and cold blooded act, the citizens of the world

will realise how little violence accomplishes.

Thank you, Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, thank you

for your courage, your determination, and your belief in

peace. "Good night, sweet prince, . . ."

Again, I offer my sincerest condolences to the Rabin

family, and the State of Israel for the loss of a brave and

heroic man.

It seems as if Rabin was alone in his strive for
peace for all of us.

He was so strong and so dedicated to the cause of peace that only after
his dead,

we realized how much he was doing for all of us, and how passive we all
were.

We trusted him. We did not support him or help him as we should have.

And we miss him. We all feel we shall make a revision of the way we
interact with people,

and the way we act to pursue the important goals in life.

We shall all be better from now on, and this is his most important
legacy.

It's a shame he had to die for us to realize this basic human precept.
