Yitzhak Rabin Condolence Book

I myself never supported Mr. Rabin and his political
KNESET party

Bu i was very shocked of what happened. The most shocking thing to me
is the way

the murderer and people supporting his ation justify the murder

by the Jewish laws etc. As I was raised in accordance with relegion

I can not agree to it. There can NOT be any religious justification for
such an action.

The events over the last few days

in Israel have been felt around

the world and here in Toronto.

There have been many gatherings

in the city to mourn the tragic loss

of Itzhak Rabin. Although his

politics were not necessarily

mainstream and had many

opposing his views, murder is not

acceptable especially from one of

his own.

May Rabin be remembered for his

heroism in the past and the good

he tried to achieve so diligently

before his death.

I don't believe in THIS peace process, leaded by the
late Mr. Rabin,

but since his tragic death I find my eyes full with tears. I cry not

only for his remaining family, but for our country's future.

I swear here and now: No one will get my vote in the next election for

prime-minister, unless he proves positive action for elimination of

political violence. The same applies for political parties.

I hope that left-voters will also give hands for our nation to escape

from this dead-end path.

I received with great disbelief at the tragic news
of the

PM Yitzhak Rabin's death. To me, Israel is just some far

away land and the conflicts with the Palestine is just

another news. BUT, THIS IS DIFFERENT.

I came from a multi-racial, multi-religious, yet peaceful

country. I don't know what is it like to be in the situation

of the Israelis or the Palestinians. But, I urge both sides..

Don't let Mr Rabin down by retreating away from the Peace process.

Mr Rabin is a warrior, in war & even more, in peace.

He was shut in his head during a robbery.

A few days before the assassination i told my grandmother that each
time i see Yitzhak face i see my fother.

I guess I loved him like the one I have lost.

Last Saterday night I went through the same experience all over again.

The shock when it happend, The hopes that he will servive even when

Mere words fail miserably in communicating the depth
of feeling this Vietnam veteran feels for a soldier who above all knew
the future of his country, his people, and the region would come with
laying down the gun and seeking peace among neighbors and countrymen
and women.

Unlike some, I fear not for the peace process. His tragic death will
strengthen, not lessen the trail Prime Minister Rabin blazed. Israel
can only be proud of this fallen soldier and seeker of health and life
for his country. While I find it sad that it is the peacemakers who
appear to fear the most from those preferring death and conflict over
life, Yitzhak Rabin did not die in vain and lends only glory to the
people and State of Israel in its efforts for lasting peace in this
Holy Land.

As a former soldier from another land, I wish only to honor Mr. Rabin,
who knew and worked toward the end of bloodshed and death of the
children of Israel and knew the only way to continue the lifeblood of
his nation's soil is to toil to end the bloodshed upon that soil.

I can only honor and salute such a man. I pray for the Rabin family
and the Israeli people. Shalom.

Lea and the family,

I'm among those who voted for Yitzhak, who believed in his

leadership and way, and who felt that we should give peace

a chance. A real chance. That means I am part of the

silent majority. No, that actually means I WAS part of the

silent majority. Not that I will not support the peace

process any longer, I will just not be silent anymore.

The majority in Israel believes in peace, and is willing to

make comprises in order to achieve peace with Syria. I

will never ever let those right extremists have their way.

We will fight back, and not yield to them. We will not use

arms, but we WILL win.

I would have given my life for Yitzhak if I could. It is

easy to say that since I'm still alive, but I really do

feel that way.

Yitzhak was a GREAT leader and man, and I will never forget

him. I have his picture hanging on my wall, and I intend

History teaches us the tragic fact that great men
are acknowledged for their greatness only after they are gone.Prime
minister Rabin was with no doubt a great man and surelly will be
remembered as such.

The Israeli society is going through a dangerous process of becoming
more violent, and as Yossi Sarid said that same night "Israel after the
night of November 4th will not be the same country".

Being borned in a non-democratic country (Argentina), I always thougt
that events as extreme as military revolutions or political murders are
not possible here.It seems that the cruel reality has prooven me wrong,
but I sencerelly hope that this tragic event will assist in making us
wiser.

Eventhough I didn't always agree with mr. Rabins policy, his
contribution to the state of Israel was enormous, and will always be
remembered.

In conclussion, Yes, I should also "hit on my sin" for not speaking and
shouting when I should have, but I hope this tragic event will make a
change of concepts in Israeli society, and the memory of this great man
destiny will serve as a big red light of warning for the future to
come.

To the Rabin Family:

I am 13 yrs. old, and I have something to say.

I was told something by my Rabbi yesterday that was incredible.

I'm quoting her: In the Torah, Cane killed his brother, and God
screamed out to him.

Why did you do this horrible sin? PEACE! When the assasin killed
Yitzhak Rabin, God cried out to

him....why did you do such a horrible sin? PEACE!"

I believe this...thank you. If you get a chance, my email address is
[email protected]

I'd like to speak to you, and I'm trying to find a way to get in touch
with Peres.

My condolences, J.P.

Dear Rabin family and Citizens of Israel,

My heart aches terribly over the loss of Itzahk. I cannot

recall crying so much or being so dramatically moved as I

have been over the past few days.

We are fortunate that this great man was with us for as

long as he was and we can only pray that his legacy of

peace and understanding continue through eternity.

War and violence never accomplish what those who utilize

these tools desire. Now more than ever, we need the

strength and resolve to carry on the work so painstakingly

crafter by Mr. Rabin.

My condolences to one and all.

To lose a father is a heartrending experience.

To lose a father who believed that peace is the ultimate

To lose a father to the hands of a fanatic is the ultimate

loss. That the murderer was a Jew, breaking one of the

10 Commandmants is the greatest travesty.

My condolences to the the Rabin family and let us hope

this will unite Israelis in the ongoing peace process.

To give up some land for peace is a much lesser sacrifice

war and peace and opted for the ultimate solution -

Funeral Blues/ W. H. Auden

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,

Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone.

Scilence the pianows and with muffled drum,

Bring out the coffin, let the moaners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead,

Scribbling in the sky the message: He Is Dead

Put crepe ribbons round the necks of the public doves,

Let the traffic police wear black cotton gloves.

He was my north, my south my east and my west,

He was my everyday work and my Sunday rest,

He was my noon, my midnight, my word, my song,

I thought that love could last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one,

pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,

pour the ocean and sweep up the wood,

because nothing can not come to any good.

(I'm sorry if the citation is inaccurate, I wrote this down from my
memory)

I feel this song illustrates very well how we all feel.

And to Rabin, his family and Peres - thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Noa,

I was moved to tears by your heartwrenching eulogy of your

grandfather. Somehow, he reminded me of a wonderful French

priest I used to know, Father Abrial He was actually a shy man deep
down

who would have preferred a quiet life in France. But he went

to China and later came to Singapore because he was moved by

a greater destiny. He was God's messenger of the power of love

and conviction.

When I heard you speak, it was obvious to me the great love

your grandfather had for his family and his people. And it is

also very apparent that his light now shines bright in you.

The torch has been passed on to the next generation.

"Enough of blood and tears ...Enough"

Thank-you for sharing your personal insights of your
