Dear Rabin Family: You have given this world a precious gift. You helped us see that a person can live a righteous life while still putting the interests of one's people first. You showed how much stronger actions are than words and your actions gave us an example of the best that people can be. I cannot thank you enough. Baruch Ha-Nemtzaim. Sincerely, Marc Glassman

Rabin is dead. Murdered by a Jew. At the end of a peace rally, in Tel Aviv. This scenario is shocking, seemingly unreal. We lost one of our greatest leaders, a man of great conviction, determined to secure peace in our region. Now more than ever we need to re-think what we want to stand for. Each and everyone of us, can and must make a difference in favour of the peace process. If Rabin achieved so much as one individual...imagine what we can achieve as a unified country. Rabin's death will not be in vain.

Yom Shaynee LParshas Vayeroh 5756 November 6, 1995 Although I disagreed with his most recent political views and course of action for Artzeynu Hakedoshah, I must admit that I never would have believed that Retzach would be the result. This is a concept that is repugnant to all Yorey Shomayim! I find it interesting that at a Tekufah in his life where his views were very closely mirroring those of Rav Meir Kahana, in that, as he stated, We must not attempt to annex 2.5 million Arabs, but live separately under separate governments and separate jurisdictions, he met with a similar, and untimely end! The only difference in the two political views was over how much, if any, land to give back in order to accomplish this separation. To his family we must say Hamokome Yinachem Eschem Bisoche Shear Avaylay Tzion, Viyerushalayim. Shimon Ray Chicago, Illinois

During all my life in Israel, during all the wars I fought in, the hope for peace was the thing that kept my sanity. And now, with his death, I feel like there is not much left to hope for. He was a brave and honrst man that fought and died for his truth, and I always admired him for that.

The pain is unbearable, the frustration is huge. In this rough hours, when evil forces of darkness are clouding the sky, we - Jews from all around the world, atheists, non-religious, religious, orthodox, reform, conservative - should stand up together, unite, clear our lines from any cancer tumors like the assasine - and do our best to walk tall head towards a better future, in the light of Izhak Rabin's legacy. We will never forget you, and we shall never let anything like this ever happen again!!! much love to the Rabin family, Lihi & Eyal Santo

I was just there in the square that night. I was leaving the place when the murder took place. I only heard about it when I got home. There were so many people there, supporting the government and the peace process. I remember leaving the place amazed by the event, how smoothly everything was, not even the usual punks who come to disturb in such occasions. Only when I got home, I realized how wrong was I. The shock is undescribable...

I made aliyah 2 years ago from The Netherlands, since then I saw a tear-up in the Israeli society because of the political struggle. The murder of Yitshak Rabin is a horrible, unneccesary and dangerous event. I hope this will be the end of the TEARING UP of this nation. As a start of that, the mass media should stop with throwing dirt at the "right" side of Israel and the mass media should try to find points we have together and not apart from each other. Deeply sorry.

On a visit to Petra, Jordan with his wife Lea Prime Minister Rabin explained that he cannot find the proper words to describe what he saw. Neither can us the citizens of Israel and the rest of the world at this sad occasion. All of us share the great unprecedented grief of the Rabin family. A great man was assasinated and taken from us. With it something as great was killed, THE THOUGHT THAT NO JEWISH PERSON HAS THE ABILITY TO TOUCH OUR LEADERS, my heart is crying. How unfortunate that all the support and love was silent until his tragic death.

Although I was in complete disagreement with the ways of Rabin, I felt deep sorrow and shock when he was murdered. These are not the ways for resolving political disagreeement. I wore blacks since I heard of the killing, hanged a picture of Rabin on my door and did not teach in the Technion. This is a horrible moment for al the people in Israel, not only to those who belonged to his political camp. Notwithstanding this, I was shocked when I noticed few politicians trying to capitalize on the fresh blood, by trying to point a finger at their opponents. This is a disgrace!

We express our heartfelt sorrow and sympathy to you and your worldwide family. It is so regretful that those within do not have the same respect for the heighest office as did David when he had the opportunity to take King Saul's life. The office is as sacred today as it was then. My God grant you His peace and comfort.

Prime Minister Rabin: We, the Jewish people, respect old age because it affords us the time to reflect on our lives and the maturity to analyze our many years. Whereas the young may be driven to anger and impetuous actions, age breeds reflective thought, the advantage of experience, and a greater value for life. You showed the best sagely attributes of age. Having shown valor in defending our dear Israel in your youth, you showed that the road to peace was risky but so necessary, so that our next generation of youth will be freeer from the need for impetuosity. My thoughts and the thoughts of my family are with the Rabin family.

As an American, I feel your loss. As you know, we've experienced the same, many times over, as well. As a Christian, I stand by you and mourn with you, the passing of another who seemed to have no desire to be a martyr, but to which destiny may have chosen him. As a believer of Peace, I feel a tremendous void. This simple man, who meant so much, was taken at a time when the shining hour appeared near. Maybe his work was truly done-the rest, left to us. As a human being, I feel deep sadness. For a family, a nation, and a world. All of us have lost a great humanitarian. I look through teared eyes with hope-not that his death will fortify a barrier between opponents, but rather that his death serve as a gateway through which both sides can pass-and finally a long-lasting peace. God Bless You All. Shalom.

Of the great man Yitzhak Rabin enough cannot be said. He was a man guided by his values and beliefs always trying to better the State of Israel. He led a life often interrupted by war and terrorism but never lost hope for peace in the Middle East. It is not often that a great man comes to power that can truly change history for the better. Unfortunately when this happens people become afraid. They are afraid that the status quo will be disrupted and they are afraid of change, they do not know what the change will bring and how it will affect their lives. Yitzhak Rabin was a man who stood up to these fears and the people that these fears represented. He worked toward peace through terrorist bombings and and hatred, through politics, and red tape and never lost sight of his ultimate goal. Maybe if we were all a little more like Yitzhak Rabin the world would be a better, safer, more peaceful place. Rest In Peace Yitzhak Rabin I pray that your goal of peace can be realized. Shai Azoulai
