Yitzhak Rabin Condolence Book

Name: Jay A. Frogel
Country: USA
Comments:
It is so terribly sad that Yitzhak Rabin will not
see the
flowers of peace that must surely grow out of the ground
that he so carefully sowed as a leader in peace after plowing
it as a leader in battle. His last battle was fought for
everyone in the Middle East - Jews and non-Jews. Those who
would invoke Religion to justify and condone this unspeakable
act - in Israel, in the US, or elsewhere - commit the most
grievous sin against all Religions and against their fellow
humans. Peace must in the end prevail or we all shall
surely perish.

Dealing with the loss of a hero sparks different
emotions
within my soul. I can only emphasize the brilliance of
Rabin's character. Brilliance because Rabin is one
individual who lead Israel through Independence and other
Arab-Israeli Wars, but he still grasped the notion that
it was time for Israel to attempt to create peace between
its Arab neighbors. To fight for such a cause takes
unimaginable courage!

The world will mourn in the departure of a wonderful
visionary.

Shalom, Prime Minister Rabin!

Rabin was undoubtedly one of the greatest leaders
in Jewish history, and that goes back to biblical times.
I can't begin to tell you how much I though of him. He is arguably our
generation's Moses. He spent 40 years leading his people in a desert of
war, his people thirsting for peace, surrounded by enemies. But like
Moses, though he led us to the edge of the Promised Land, he will not
be
able to go there with us. But his accomplishments of his life, and
particularly of the last several years, are monumental and will never
be
forgotten.

A tragic case of irrationalism and fanaticism coming
to its' horrific conclusion. Now more than ever, reason as an absolute
MUST be pursued. Mr. Rabin's premature death will be for naught if the
process he so courageously began is derai

led or its essence changed. It is in Israel's rational self-interest
that his dream be allowed its' fruition.

Israel has lost a great leader. His family has lost an irreplaceable
value. Our condolences to all of you.

If anything, It is shame to this country we all have all read and

real Faith to the Almighty
should be. But Rabin would not die in vain. For Peace will prevail! At
73,there was nothing more he could offer his descendants and young

mankind cut him down. Rabin, with Love I say, Go towards the LIGHT!

As National President of the Palestinian American

condolences to the Rabin Family and the people of Israel
for the death of Prime Minister Rabin.
While Rabin symbolized for many Palestinian, harshness
and pain in past years, during the past several years, he
symbolized a very brave individual who fought for a peace
for both peoples.
For that, he will be remembered and admired by the

I was saddened by Mr. Rabin violent death.
I admire Mr. Rabin's efforts to move the middle east closer
to peace.

I am very upset at the "spontaneous" happy demonstrations in Beirut,
Lebanon that celebrated his death.
The people in the streets firing in the air in jubilation are
ignorants.
The silent majority of the lebanese people would aggree
with me that the cause for peace in our region has been hurt
by Mr. Rabin's death.

All lebanese pray for peace in our region and look forward
to a time when we will live peacefully with all our neighbours.

If it was up to the lebanese people, we would have signed a peace
treaty
with Israel long ago because we have very much to gain by peace
and much to loose by war and turmoil.
But As you know we have been assigned a custodian (Mr. Assad of Syria)
and we have no choice but to play along or else.

Again my condolences to Mr. Rabin's family and to the israeli
people.

Let us give PEACE a chance.

We must ask at times like this: why does it seem
that the peace-givers are punished while the death-dealers thrive? The
answer is that the legacy of the peace-giver -- like that of Yitzhak
Rabin -- shall flourish and bloom after his pas

sing while that of the death-dealer shall wither and die before his
very eyes. Let us weep for the passing of a great man, while rejoicing
in the promise that he brought us before God called him home.

To : The Rabins

In your deepest hours of sorrow we would like you to know
that we are praying for you. Yitzhak was a true figure to
the people, a peacemaker and a remarkable man. His
dedication to his country and his people has sealed the fact
that he will go into the annals of History as a "Benchmark

It is often said that in today's world, there

days -- and in the Prime Minister's case, his l

Minister Rabin was a hero. I thank him for what he added to my life

The World¹s Lament

Cruel world that shoots down men of peace,
Guilty world that does not keep them safe,
The ones that strive to give our lives,
Safe haven from the rifts of time,

Gentle men across the world will cease,
To exist and only evil shall rave,
And all of us poor sinners enslave,
As we go meekly to our graves,

Time was that all would be fine,
Time was that never would the time,
Be found when men could walk the line,
And be praised while they live,

Not found dead in the streets,
As the just were found these days,
Pity the world that lauds the sick,
Who empty their guns into the rest,

Thinking that this is the best,
That the world can offer all the rest,
Towards suffering we all are bent,
Relentless war for malcontent.

QLM

I am a sabra, born in Afula, my heart is still breaking for
the sadness that is all the worlds at the loss of this
great peacemaker, he was and always will be a great statesman.

I was almost unique amongst my Anglo-Saxon dati
friends in placing "Emet" in the ballot box in June 1992.
As we progressed from Washington 1993 to Washington 1995, and the
declarations of readiness to withdraw from the Golan, I wometimes
wondered whether I had done the right thing.

At no time did I doubt that Yitzhak Rabin was a leader, sincerely
dedicated to delivering the best that he could to his country. His
death, I see as primarily the private loss
for his family. His murder, at the hands of a fellow Israeli Jew I see
as being a tragedy for the nation, a warning shouting louder and
clearer than one could have imagined of
the need for the leaders of the country to heal rifts and build
consensus, to learn a new language of political debate, to develop new
ways of expressing legitimate, sincerely-
held opposing views.

With the benefit of hindsight, it does not seem so surprising that the
assassin' bullet followed from the nature of the rhetoric and the
images we had heard and seen. This doesn'
excuse or come to terms with the hideous act of vioelnce, but if the
debate is conducted on a different level and the the people once againi
becomes a single people rather than
two, divided peoples, then, at the national level, Rabin's death will
have continued to contribute to Rabin's dream.

With Leah Rabin and family, and for Leah Rabin and family, we can only
cry.... and wish that "HaMakom yenachem etchem btoch sha'ar avelei
Tzion vi'Yerushalayim".

It is a sad day in our history when a Jew decides to raise a gun and

May we learn to use the tools and ways of Democracy in order to set
this country
on the track we believe to be the right one, and may we have the wisdom
