Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was the best friend of
Peace.

Another great Man of courage is killed.
His legacy as I see it is: Courage for Peace.

He played a major role building a nation, a nation for millions.
But, for humankind, for billions of us and future generations, he
demonstrated Courage,COURAGE FOR PEACE.

I wish we all learn, study and understand His philosophy of life.
He was aware of his role: action for peace for his nation and
humankind.

Probably we have not understand the extent of his efforts today.
Certainly, human kind has a lot to learn from him.

This is why I believe that his legacy shall be preserved, and serious
studies on peace conducted for the benefit of humankind. An institution
with Yitzhak Rabin's name would be a noble initiative.

Rabin Institute for Peace.
The acronym, RIP may well describe our wishes for his soul, and a
reminder
of his last words:
"I always believed that most of the people want peace and are ready to
take a risk for it".

My heartfelt sympathy to General Rabin's family and friends.
The people of Israel is blessed for counting with such a great man.
Again, an example and leader for humankind.

Peace's best friend.

We are all shocked and grief beaten by the
assasination of our prime
minister. We are all deeply hurt by what happened. Someone tried and
succeeded to kill a man who was a living symbol of the Israeli. He was
most
extremely loved and deeply admired by people from the entire political
and
economical spectrum. He was also a honest person, something rare
nowdays.
He was a man of truth, and we all knew it. He was a real leader. And
the
most terrible, he was killed by one of his citizens, not by an external

enemy. He survived, figting and leading, the wars. Today I woke up and
didn't belive what I knew. It felt like a nightmare. I went to sleep at
4
oclock last night watching the television which doesn't stop
interviewing
and talking and mourning and showing the poeple. Only now they stopped
and
they'll show the coffin and all the nation passing by it in the
parliment
house in Jerusalem. The flow of poeple won't stop until the funeral
(tommorrow) so it is expected that one million poeple will pass by it.
He fell because he was doing peace. A shame we can't grasp. I saw him
when
I was in the army, holding a hearing with all the soldiers (as a
defence
minister and leader of the israeli labour party!, I was a simple
private!)
after a fire broke in our base and 8 soldiers were killed. He was
totally
and geniuinly involved, attentive, and asking the right questions, we
was
always 'equal' when treating everyone, never patronizing, and it was
not a
fasade. He liked to know the details and get his own unbuffered
impression
of things when it came to army matteres. (that included inteligence
reports, i read he wanted the raw reports, he wanted to make the
conclusions by
himself). He was very humane. And a very sharp leader. the one man he
sometimes reminded me is great winston churchil. I was at the
demonstration
in which it happened, yesterday night, in tel-aviv. A huge support
ralley,
and I have been in many. At least i am happy he saw all
the love for him.
OK, I have to sleep tonight. Today people hardly could work. Most came
very
late. The tv is on, and on, and stunned people walk and walk. once in a

while I turn my head back, and watch it. amazing. we will not have
someone
like him.

My family and I share the grief of the people of the
State
of Israel and indeed of Jews everywhere in the death of
Yitzhak Rabin. When I think of Mr. Rabin's life and his
contributions to his country and Jews everywhere
I cannot help but think about the parallels between his life
and that of Moses. Like Moses he led his people during
times of great struggle to a place of peace and prosperity.
Like Moses he was not allowed to be there for the final
victory of peace and humanity. The difference is that God
decided that Moses should not enter the promise land.
For Mr. Rabin the decisionmaker was a man.
And therein lies the tragedy.

His death was a profound blow to the Jewish Nation.

A nation that has struggled throughout the history.
General Rabin has led the nascent young nation full
of motivated Jewish people which has rise from the
ashes of the Holocaust into a vibrant nation completed
with the reunification of the City of Peace, Jerusalem.

Jewish laws has taught that each human life is Holy.
To take a life simply because of a differing political
viewpoint is unspeakable! Clearly, the bloody assasin
has a total disregard for the Jewish way of life and
the Jewish laws which as been laid down by Hashem and
delivered by Moses. The assassin DOES NOT represent the
Jewish people. The assassin REPRESENT the enemy which
we are consigned to fight for rest of the Jewish
existence.

General Yitzhak Rabin has joined the ranks of
Jewish martyrs.

I hope the peace process will continue as normal.
His unnecessary death should not be a reason for
halting the peace process.

Rest in peace, Lieutant General Yitzhak Rabin,
your duty is finished. Let a new Jewish person
take over your duties and carry on the tradition
of Jewish leadership.

Shalom

Yitzhak Rabin was a great warrior. He displayed
his prowess both on the battlefield and as a strategician. In
war, he was a strong soldier and a powerful leader who brought victory
to his people. And yet, in the finest tradition of the warrior, his
greatest enemy was not the foe he happened to be fighting, but war
itself. Just as the doctor does not love disease, so does the warrior
hate and fight against war. It is sad, but also fitting and honorable,
that Yitzhak Rabin died a soldier's death on his - and his nation's -
greatest battlefield, during the course of his greatest victory. May
he rest in the peace that he, with the strength of both his sword and
his pen, created.

Yitzhak Rabin was a true leader of our people
Israel: when the
time was there for defending the State of Israel in its infancy
against attackers from all sides, he was there. But when the time
came to make peace, a working and living peace, he was there too.
It takes great vision and courage to make such a radical shift in
approach, and we can not only hope, but must act to ensure, that
we have the courage to continue this vision for a real peace between
Israel and its neighbors. Rabin was uniquely able to start this
process, having both the vision and the credibility among many
in Israel who were not able to share his vision yet. It is a great
tradegy that while Israel is in the process of making peace with
Palestineans, peace to help secure the State of Israel, our
country, for all amcha yisrael (people of Israel, scattered
wherever we are), that the people of Israel is itself not at
peace. May we work to bring peace amongst ourselves, and with
God's help, may we succeed.

Tonight at Mass, during the intercessions,
someone
prayed "For the people of Israel, as they mourn the loss of
their leader, Yitzak Rabin, we pray to the Lord." And the
whole assembly answered, "LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER." It seemed
the only thing we could do at the time.
But there is one more thing. Our pastor likes to
remind us when someone close has died, that we have gained
a powerful intercessor with God. Yitzak Rabin was close to
all of Israel.

The first time I saw the Prime Minister in person
was as a teen
in Philadelphia. He had recently won the Six Day War and been
granted an honorary doctorate by Hebrew University. Although
proven a giant on the battlefield, his message was then as when
he died, a message of peace. I'm sure his commitment to peace
for all Israel will never be forgotten.

Prime Minister Rabin was an extraordinary leader who
over four decades fought valiantly for his principles and
ideals with courage, creativity, intelligence, judgment, and
compassion. His life is an example for all to emulate.
One can assassinate an individual, but one cannot
assassinate the ideals he stood and fought for. May
peace live in the hearts of all in the Middle East.

It seems that our greatest leaders are taken from us
when their greatest achievements are yet to come. All humanity, no
matter race, age, or creed, should pray that his from his death we take
increased devotion to the cause for which h

e gave his life so that he will not have died in vain. Should we fail
him as he did not fail us, that would be the true tradegy of his death.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; for thou art with me...
Only goodness and kindness follow me
	all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
	forever. AMEN."
